Comedy video website Funny or Die has agreed to move into Formosa South, an office building under construction on the Lot, the former Warner Hollywood Studios in West Hollywood.

The move represents an expansion for the website created by comedian Will Ferrell and his longtime writing partner Adam McKay. Together they wrote “Anchorman,” “Talladega Nights” and other films.

In 2007 the pair founded Funny or Die, which includes original comedy videos, satire and political humor.

Funny or Die will have a studio plus production and office space on one and a half floors at Formosa South, landlord CIM Group said.

Financial terms of the lease were not disclosed. Each floor in the five-story building will have about 20,800 square feet, according to real estate data provide CoStar Group.

Funny or Die is now in 15,000 square feet in Hollywood, CoStar said.

The Lot is an 11-acre studio campus on Santa Monica Boulevard bounded by Formosa Avenue and Poinsettia Place. Formosa South is being built next to the studio’s main gate and set be completed in late 2013.

The first production space was built on the Lot in 1920 for Hampton Studios and a few years later it became the Pickford-Fairbanks Studios.

In 1928 Charlie Chaplin and D.W. Griffith joined with Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks to found United Artists, which operated at this site for many years. Later it would become the Samuel Goldwyn Studios and in 1980 Warner Bros. acquired it as an auxiliary studio. CIM bought the studio in 2007.
