Clinton has long shown she has a sense of humor
I just read the front page article in The News of June 16 headlined “Clinton shows new side on tour” and was startled to learn, from the caption under the accompanying picture, of “her famed sense of humor.”
I hadn’t realized that was one of her attributes. However, as I thought about it for a while, I realized I should have realized it years earlier. After all, she voiced one of the funniest lines I’ve ever heard a person involved in politics say when she stated, “My husband is the victim of a vast right-wing conspiracy” when people merely sought to show his true character by exposing his record of decades of infidelity.
More recently, she managed to top that witticism with, “We came out of the White House not only dead broke, but in debt. We had no money when we got there, and we struggled to, you know, piece together the resources for mortgages [plural], for houses [plural], for Chelsea’s education. You know, it was not easy.” Really?
Maybe this is an explanation why the Clinton’s stole so much of the public’s property when they left the White House. They were destitute despite his pension, her book guarantee of $8.5 million and the speaking fees both Clintons immediately commanded.
Maybe this explains why she felt the need to run for the Senate from a state that required only a 30-day residency to be eligible to run and in which the populace, despite the fact that she had never exhibited even the most minimal of qualifications, actually elected her. I predict her next most impressive humorous comment will be when she states that she’s qualified to be our next president. Oh, she’s already done that, and we chose to elect someone even less qualified than she.
